Singing glorious songs and being used by God to lead people to worship always brought joy to my heart.
I loved using the voice the Almighty gave me mostly for Him alone.
This makes me understand perfectly how the Late singer felt as he worshipped (with reckless abandon) The Lord with the beautiful voice given to him.
I had no idea there would be some sort of attachment to him while he was in the west african idols contest back then. I just knew there was something about him that would minister to many.... Many.
Hearing that the great singer passed, not only makes the Human me sad, but it makes the inhuman me excited because;
1. Not only is he with the Father, he's taken his place with the angels singing with the voice he was given and with the zeal and passion he had while on earth.
2. If you would ask me, I think he died empty. I mean, do you know how many lives he touched with his seemingly short stay here with the humans?
It takes a lot to think about people other than yourself and yours.
This only is the heart of someone who is in line with his creator.
As I thought of writing this piece, I listened to one of my favourites from him... The sound.
It made me play back the countless things the great God has done for me which I might have taken for granted. And I use this opportunity to say "THANK YOU GOD".
The world knows that the role Eric played on the stage of earth was short but impactful and encouraging.
As you bowed out, Eric, we will miss your role on earth. But we will continue to act our parts solemnly and with wisdom because we do not know when the master story teller would say... ITS TIME MY CHILD.
Rest well Eric Arubayi.
Our hearts are heavy now just because we are human. But our spirits rejoice because you've gone to meet our daddy early to enjoy the great things HE has always promised us... You really missed Daddy .lol
Please tell Daddy that we love Him and we appreciate His love for us.
Please tell Him that we would also love to die empty, maximising all He gave us to the upliftment of the sons of men right before we take a bow out of this place called LIFE.
Please tell HIM, everything. I'm sure Daddy wants to hear it all.
Your Legacy lives on Eric...
RIP
