Christian movies to look forward to in 2016

A new year means new movies.
2015 reminds me of the awesome movie that I'm still bidding everyone to watch "WAR ROOM"

Well welcome to 2016 guys and below is a list of Christian movies we are looking forward to their release this year.

1. Risen

Release date : Feb 19th 2016

Stars:Joseph Fiennes, Tom Felton, Peter Firth Cliff Curtis

Risen is already making waves in Christian circles for its stirring trailer. The story follows a Roman Centurion (Joseph Fiennes) who is charged by Pontius Pilate to investigate the disappearance of Christ’s body and quell an imminent uprising in Jerusalem. Risen is being billed as a Biblical noir mystery, and honestly, the whole film looks amazing. Christians should keep a sharp eye on this movie, it may just redefine the faith- based genre.

2. God's Not Dead 2

Release date: April 1st 2016

Stars: Melissa Joan Hart, Jesse Metcalfe, Ray Wise, Ernie Hudson

The Christian phenomenon which swept box offices in 2014 will return this April with a brand new installment. Reversing positions from the previous film, God's Not Dead 2 focuses on a high school teacher (Melissa Joan Hart) who is drawn into an epic court case after quoting the Bible in class. The movie plans to explore issues like religious freedom, persecution, prayer in public schools, and their effects in modern society. For now, Christians can only wait eagerly until it arrives on April 1st.

3. Silence

Release date: unknown (2016)

Stars: Adam Driver, Liam Neeson, Andrew Garfield, Ciarán Hinds,

Unlike the other faith-based movies on this list, Silence appears more reminiscent of 2014’s Calvary. The tone is much darker, and the story promises difficult questions about faith, forgiveness, and survival. The film’s plot takes place in the seventeenth century, where two Jesuit priests travel to Japan hoping to find their mentor and spread the Gospel of Christ. Instead, they are met with violence, persecution, and an uncertain future.

4: Miracles From Heaven

Starring: Jennifer Garner, Martin Henderson, John Carroll Lynch, Kylie Rogers, Eugenio Derbez and Queen Latifah

From the studio that brought you ‘Heaven Is For Real’, don’t miss the incredible true story coming March 18, 2016.

‘Miracles From Heaven’ is based on the incredible true story of the Beam family. When Christy (Jennifer Garner) discovers her 10-year-old daughter Anna (Kylie Rogers) has a rare, incurable disease, she becomes a ferocious advocate for her daughter’s healing as she searches for a solution.

After Anna has a freak accident and falls three stories, a miracle unfolds in the wake of her dramatic rescue that leaves medical specialists mystified, her family restored and their community inspired.

Based on the book by Christy Beam

Guys we should really be looking forward to the days when Christian movies would be flooding the whole of our cinemas. "Preach the gospel in the whole of Judea, Samaria..."
God help and bless us all... 🙏
