Some people do not even regard themselves as friends of Jesus...
Some do not even think JESUS would want to have a conversation with them...
Some think that "HE is GOD let's leave it that way"
Some think that "HE is only there so all my needs should be met nothing more or less"
Friends, I want to let us know that Jesus and the Holy Spirit wants a stronger relationship with us especially when we have surrendered our totality to HIM.
He wants us to understand the benefits of your allegiance and as much as He loves to hear us speak, He also looooves to speak right back.
A communication is not one if only a party does the talking. It is called "communication" when both parties are contributing.
The mistake many Christians make is they just talk to God and not wait for a reply...
Not all the time will He speak in 'cedar-breaking' tones or voices.
Many times He would speak to is in our minds and in still, small yet audible voices.
The Bible tells us in John 16:13: “But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come” (NASB).
But many of us are not that patient or attentive to His speech.
Why do we emphasize on 'quiet time'?
It is meant to be a time when we have a discussion with the God we want a strong relationship with. Where we discuss with Him like He is physically there with us.
A friend of mine introduced me to something which I saw reasonable and I will also introduce everyone to it...
And trust me if you try it you will notice a tremendous change in your life.
- whenever you want to hear from Him, create a very serene environment for yourself.
- you can even take a seat and place in front of you like your best pal would.
- invite Him to the room and offer the seat
- imagine in your mind that He is already present ( and trust me He would be there)
- Then begin a conversation... You can start by pouring out how your day went and all... Basically 'Gist' Him.
- wait for a reply/ contribution ( it doesn't matter if you do not hear anything immediately but still be attentive and don't be disappointed)
You will not believe that when you constantly do this then you strongly believe and totally imagine He is there at all times; one day, you will not be surpised when you hear that voice engaging in a convo with you like He is there physically...
It is not a hard thing friends and when you hear from HIM that is the best directive/ instruction you can ever get in this life...
Friendship with God is not as hard as it seems... Try it out today, make it a habit and see how it would transform your minds.

God, thank You for the sweetness of Your presence. Show me how to not just talk at You but to listen to You. Remove any distraction that would keep me from hearing Your still, small voice.
