I watched a video today in church and it brought tears to my eyes.
Here is the video summed up in a story.
I hope I try to portray the true emotions of the video.
A little girl once wrote a note to her dad to appreciate him for all he'd done for her.
So, she have him the note to read as he took her to school.
The man took the note and began to read with a loving and gentle smile playing on his lips, warming straight into our hearts;
My dad is the best dad in the world.
He is my superman
He is very kind
He is very funny
He is very hardworking
And he is very loving.
My dad always wants the best for me.
My dad loves to make me smile.
My dad is a great man.
And my dad is wonderful
But,
At this point, the man paused with a distraught look in his eyes at the daughter he loves because of what followed in the note;
He lies...
The man was shocked but he had to keep on reading. So he continued;
He lies about having a job
He lies about having money
He lies about not being tired
He lies about not being hungry
He lies about being happy
He lies about these things,
Because...
Of ME.
I LOVE YOU DADDY.
At this point, the man had mixed emotions and with tears in his eyes and a sad smile on his lips, he knelt and reached out to his daughter for a warming hug just because, she saw through his hard exterior and understood.
This video brought tears to my eyes and made me realise how much I still have to do for my daddy to pay him for all the days he had to endure hunger, pain, being broke and tiredness just to make sure I ended up happy.
My dad is not the richest man in the world but,
I attended good schools,
I had money to spend,
I had all I ever asked for
And,
Above all,
I had his love.
I still DO.
HAPPY FATHERS DAY DAD!
So, to all the Fathers and potential fathers, also to the Fathers who have passed but left a mark in the sands of time,
I say...
HAPPY FATHERS DAY.
