The agonizing pains of a loving mother

Gloria woke up with a start, as she felt really uncomfortable and uneasy. She checked the clock, it was just a few minutes past 2am.
At first she thought it was a nightmare but instincts told her otherwise. “What exactly is wrong? Sigh” as she places her palm on her forehead, she felt beads of sweat arranged “neatly” there.
As though by electrocution, she jumped to her feet and ran to her baby’s room; there she saw her little mirabelle almost lifeless.
In fear, she lifted her almost lifeless baby and began to weep rocking her back and forth and whispering silent prayers to God for good health.
Mirabelle was having a really high temperature, she had played well all through the day and almost into the night especially after having her usual dose of Brest milk before falling asleep. Gloria wondered what would have triggered the fever. As she soaked a towel in a bowl of cold water, she dabbed the moist towel all over her baby’s body to bring down the temperature.
At exactly 5am, Gloria grabbed the keys to her Lexus SUV, lifted her baby, grabbed her “emergency bag” all at once and rushed off to the hospital.
On getting there, the doctor advised a blood test be carried out on little mirabelle.
The results were released and little Mira belle had a viral infection accompanied with high fever and Malaria.
She had to undergo immediate treatment and admission. She was given multiple injections which was meant to reduce the fever and calm her nerves .
Gloria sat by and watched as tubes were passed into her baby’s arms and wept silently.
When she was alone with her daughter, Gloria prayed to take Mirabelle’s place as her baby was going through a lot of silent pain which she couldn’t help.
As she sat by her bed, many thoughts kept flashing though her mind. “Dear Lord, why can’t I be the one in the bed while my little mirabelle plays freel?,
But, dear Lord is this how you feel when we are going through so much pain?
How did you feel sending your only son to take the place of sin in our lives just so we can be free?
Is the pain I feel the exact kind of pain you felt when the devil kept tormenting us and there was nothing you could do till Jesus?
I really can’t imagine how torn you were when your son came to give his own life in exchange for me.
I’m seriously sorry if I’m still at some point causing you pain considering the gravity of love you showed me. I’m totally grateful “
After a few days, Gloria and little Mirabelle were out of the hospital and basking in good health.
Sincerely friends, that story is a true reflection of the Love of God towards us . When we were lost, his heart broke at the torment we had to face from Satan and when Jesus offered to take our place, it would have been one of God’s toughest decisions as he would be torn between finding another means. But still, he did.
Even Jesus, felt the exact same pain Gloria felt hence his volunteering to come take our place.
Please don’t take this immense love for granted every one. It was a really tough decision.
With this love of God, I love you all.
Have a beautiful day.

When words fail you.

Hello every one.
It’s been a minute and trust me I missed you guys. I hope you missed my pen too?
There is something bugging my mind and I thought to share.
What do you do when words fail you? Your heart is heavy with unspoken words, weighed down with unexpressed emotions, and burdened with fear of the unknown.
I am not “perfect”.
Oh yeah, I know I am Perfect through Him and IN HIM.
But as much as I feel I am not totally “perfect” yeah,, I still feel I have the right to correct those I feel are in the wrong. Do you get me?
...I had rehearsed all I was going to say to her over and over again, I mean, I even acted it out (role play).
I told myself I was going to tell her the truth even in the face of the obvious lies she told me to my face. I’m someone who believes anything (this is something I’m still begging God to help me change) I can trust anyone and anything so long as I love you.
When i got to finally see her, I asked questions And I expected nothing but the truth. But, I was lied to yet again. I was mad but I couldn’t talk; all my role play faded all in me like ice melts away and smoke fades away in the distance.
She is hurting deep down, sinking deeper and deeper into a black world. She feels she’s right and can sway everyone with her innocent bright brown eyes, gentle demeanour and cool exterior;
but I am here, holding the light, carrying the weight of the unspoken words and getting burned by the unexpressed emotions that I don’t know what to do.
I pick up my phone, dial her number and all I do is chit chat away. I drop the call and I’m back to the regretful heaviness that burdens me concerning her..
I’m thinking I might hurt her with my words and lose her totally to the wicked claws of oblivion, darkness, regret and pain.
I have prayed about it but I feel like the first right word that would lead to a sentence then a phrase hasn’t dropped in my mind just yet.
Tick Tock... the clock ticks away and she is drowning deeper and deeper in her self destruction.
What do you do when the right WORDS FAIL YOU?
What do you do when your actions fail you?
What about when your tears fail you? (That’s if you know how to shed a tear or two)
I really do feel, the fact that you are super concerned and you show a lot of love might be of great help. I don’t know guys, I just feel that way.
When WORDS FAIL YOU, what do you do?

The sojourn and the WAIT

It has been a while i wrote here but there is something i will love to share.
Firstly, i bless the name of God for a beautiful life, there have been struggles i mean, lots of struggles.
physical, spiritual, emotional and mental struggles but He consistently gives grace to overcome them all.
i was reading a book by Francine Rivers well, i was re-reading actually, and it felt so new . reason being that i got a newer dimension of the love of Christ for me.
if you have read the book "REDEEMING LOVE" i bet you will understand where i am coming from. and if you haven't... oh well, please do.
Let me tell you a story...
i am a living testimony of grace, an example of standing in the light but longing for what's at the other side.

i am a living testimony of grace, an example of standing in the light but longing for what's at the other side.
Many times, I would long for a different life. You know, I sometimes used to envy those who moved from darkness to light I mean they have tasted both sides and have been able to weigh and see which pays off.
I gained admission to study chemistry in school in one of the most prominent federal universities in the country you know, they are always the life of the party.
In my first year, I judged the club ladies, the party rockers, the non church goers, the smokers, drinkers etc But I was low-key curious to know what they enjoyed in that life.
fast forward to my year 2, i made up my mind to check it out. my dressing changed, i went to parties, not a lot though but just a few to see that other life.
but, i had this friend who was way worse than i became but, one day, he walks up to me and begins to talk about being born again.
i wanted to slap him because he seemed to have forgotten I'm coming from a "christian home'. i reminded him of how i never missed sunday church, how i'm a christian from birth etc...
he was persistent.
i embarrassed him, shouted at him, ignored his calls but my friend kept on . right now when i think back to it ehn, i just see God's hand in all of these.
after a lot of persuasion, i decided to just attend one of his famous mid week services just to silence him you know.
that service, i will never forget was a turning point for me.
i got a different vibe and perspective to Christianity.
i became a regular attendee, i even joined the work force over time.
You know there are people that never get as much grace as i got. i know that God wanted me to see and appreciate the light i was in.
there are people who once they cross over to the other side, they dont get a second chance.
i was given a second chance just like the prodigal son in the bible.
i sojourned but He waited.

SPEAK!

I know it could sound like a broken record when we keep hearing the phrase "words are powerful, speak positively etc". But, let us be sincere, my own revelation of this is just exactly how this image depicts it.
When the earth was to be formed, words were being spoken and it became a reality.
I chose to use this image simply because it shows the exact way words affect the human mind.
What we speak to ourselves, our friends, family affects and changes a lot of things.
What A speaks is from a deposit of what A has stored up in His or her mind. And B who is on the receiving end, only receives by virtue of what is being deposited in him/her by A.
What do we store up in our subconscious?
Are we defined by what people think of us or what we think of ourselves?
Do people's opinions define who we are?
Are the things we say about ourselves a result of what people have made us believe we are?
Let me give you some life stories.
Anytime I say "life" ehn, it could be my personal story or a story someone must have told me sometime back
Story 1: Me
I work in the event industry,
it is an industry where paying attention to details is what really gets the job done.
So, I used to forget a whole lot of vital information for events and it cost my company some extra unbudgeted cash.
This thing worried me so much especially when it became a thing of ridicule. My colleagues began to dump anything they'd forget on my head saying the told me and knowing who I was, I'll be all confused and even begin to believe I was being told.
Anytime I remembered I was not told, it was always late and I would have borne the repercussion.
I started accepting my "fate" as the forgetful one. And everything about me started to get retartded.
Not until one day, I thought to myself that if I continued like this in the company, I would be valueless . So I took it to God in prayer. Everyday I said to myself, I no longer forget things. My mind is sharpened, I have a renewed memory, I regain my lost glory etc
I started taking notes at the slightest word spoken, sometimes recording the meetings.
In less than a month, I started seeing changes. My mind was continually renewed by the positive things I ingested and spoke to my subconscious.
I'm still a work in progress , I do not have a better yesterday but I'm actually better than what I used to be.
That is my story. I spoke the change to be
I will not like to bore you with the motivation but, in the next edition of speak, I will be talking about a man who spoke the future of his child to be when they had the challenges of "barrenness"
Start by speaking a word, then a sentence, a paragraph and it becomes a part of you to keep speaking .
Till later...

The REAL reason... ME

Damned, perished and helpless was I.
As I sat at one corner of my cell, thinking, "is there more to life than this?", along came the warden. "Get out there and join your mates who are entertaining the master" , he said.
He dragged me by the chains my hands, neck and legs were tied to. Each chain lock which was not more than 9 inches thick and made of pure iron was used to tie me up.
I had not known any life apart from this especially because I was actually born like this. My parents met like this and I was conceived into this life of pain.
The master called me and told me to sing, dance and entertain him. This I did without much complaint.
My salty sweat trickled down my head to my lips as I tasted the agony of the pain I would forever call my life.
One day,
I heard a whisper. "Some strange visitor is here", the voice said.
And I began to wonder, "who visits such a hell hole?"
Lost in my thoughts, I was not aware of a knock on my cell gate.
Knock, knock, knock...
I hurriedly gathered my thoughts and answered. "Yes! who goes there?", then I heard the voice of the warden, "I'm sure you've heard there is a visitor, come out here, He's come for you"
Nothing could describe the shock on my face as I stared blankly at the warden for what was close to 5 minutes.
"GET OUT!", he bellowed. " the presence of this visitor is getting everyone here uncomfortable. The earlier He leaves, the safer for the rest of us."
"GET THE HELL OOOOOUT!", he screamed.
I snapped out of my shock and scrambled out of my cell in such a hurry that I did not feel the pains of the chains eating through my delicate skin.
As I ran towards my master, I saw this great light. This was something I was not used to in this hell hole as darkness was a way of life.
"This visitor must be powerful", I thought to myself.
As I approached Him, my chains began to break. "Strange things are happening here", I said.
My master was down on his knees, head bowed to the ground. That was when it hit me, this visitor isn't just powerful, He is greater than my master.
With my eyes still fixed on my master, I heard a voice , subtle, friendly and beautiful from before me, as He said, "Oluwaseun my daughter, fear not, I have come for you".
Gradually, He turned to face me and I saw the most beautiful sight I had never ever seen.
His clothes were white, pure white.
He had the most beautiful hair,
His smile, hmmm warmed through the deepest parts of my soul.
A golden crown with the craziest gemstones I hardly even knew, was on His head.
With arms stretched wide, he drew close to me.
By then, I had no idea tears were rolling down my cheeks. I stood looking down at my blood stained, soot stained, sweaty, dirty rainment and He said, " never mind my child, I just need to hold you close to my heart. I want you to feel the warmth of my embrace".
I didn't know when I ran, jumped and hugged Him. I had never felt so much love before . I could have sworn I had known Him all my life.
I asked questions and I got answers.
But, the best answer I got , was to this question I asked.
"Why did You REALLY come?"
And His reply was, " I came because of YOU".
