Music: The Soul and mind tie...

It was convocation day at a prestigious school in Nigeria and BAYO, who had always been of the ideology that as soon as he graduates He would get a good paying job and his degree will not go to waste. He would live life to the fullest and enjoy life as planned; graduated with a first class honors degree. "Life had never seemed so bright." he thought.

This in reality wasn't what his life turned out to be; because after his youth service, Bayo got a job after about 2 years of waiting and searching. The pay was manageable and he felt he could make do with that and as time passes; he would climb up the success ladder to a greater position and pay.

But, It looked like reality and dreams didn't quite gel well for Bayo because the company began to delay payment of salaries and everyone thought it was just for a month. But, It turned out that the guess was wrong, for the months ran into months and no payment was made. Sadly, the company folded up.

In the mix of all these, Bayo was living on borrowed funds. From one friend to another and like that it continued so Bayo had to leave the company in search of another job.

Thank God, he got one. But, it somehow turned out to be almost like the former company as his salary after the first month, was delayed for 2 months.

This is Bayo's 3rd month and he is fed up.

One evening, Bayo took a stroll just to clear his head. He picked up his guitar and went to the water front not too far from his home. After a lot of staring into space, Bayo began to play soft music and any tune that came to mind. As he sang and tears welled up in his eyes, he got filled with this inner peace that  Surprisingly; created the smile that family and friends hadn't seen in a while.

The music filled his soul, a presence  surrounded him and he felt all his worries leave along with the atmosphere the music created around/for him...

The story of Bayo, is one I can relate with especially when it comes to music.
Whenever I feel down, really down, I begin to sing slow spirit lifting songs and like magic, my smile comes back. My energy is refuelled. One minute I'm sad and almost immediately I'm dancing or smiling like nothing happened. My mind and soul will be in sync. I would feel like I'm soaring on eagles wings and that builds my confidence, strength and joy.

Have you tried using music to help your present down situation? If not, then you should try. If it can work for Bayo and myself, then it can work for about anybody.
Even if you can't sing, plug your headsets and listen to some really good spirit lifting songs, hum or sing along gently and You will find yourself bracing up from whatever weighed you down.

Remember , all things shall perish from under the sky but, MUSIC alone will live forever...

It definitely is " a mind and soul tie".
